Even if that doesn't describe you, I just felt it was important for you to know that Sav-ahome.com came about because someone I was led to talk to found out that his home was not in danger of foreclosure as he had been told.
This person had been told of the certain foreclosure by a reputable entity! This person had SLEEPLESS NIGHTS and went from church to church trying to get around $3000 together to prevent the foreclosure action on the house that was inherited...one this person planned to live in!
It turns out the mortgage was behind, but when he called a toll-free number I gave him from the federal government (1-888-995-HOPE which is the same as 1-888-995-4673) and the federal government representative spoke with the mortgage company's retention specialist, the home was IN NO DANGER WHATSOEVER of foreclosure.
Sure, it was behind, but they were more than willing to let the person catch up the arrears at a later time by working out a new financing deal. He did not have to sell it to an investor. But many people do not have a happy ending like that: they are having to vacate their homes in a 2 months or even 2 weeks. Just to tell you another testimony, one time I went to my mother's bank and paid my mother's car payment for three months. I never asked her bank account number, nor the car payment account number. I simply said that I wanted to make her car payment. I gave her full name and home address and asked if the clerk would take care of it. She did and it was reflected on my mother's receipts.
